Indian Mound Reserve is actually three connected parks located just outside of Cedarville OH; Peterson Park on the west, Williamson Mound on the north and Cedar Cliff Falls on the east side. Together they contain more than eight miles of hiking trails through woods and meadow containing almost 100 different variety of wildflowers. The beautiful falls with the spring wildflowers in full bloom were the icing on the cake!
The falls drop 18 feet into the gorge on Massie Creek. There are a number of platforms on both sides of the gorge as well as a bridge to cross over providing visitors with a number of options to experience the falls. The scenic overlooks around the falls are easily accessible via paved walkways just a short distance from the parking area.
We stopped to check out Cedar Cliff Falls on the way back from hiking Horseshoe Falls at Caesar Creek State Park, though after visiting it was evident that we need to schedule another trip out this way to explore more of Indian Mound Reserve.
You won’t be disappointed, stop by to take in the serenity of Cedar Cliff Falls… and stick around to explore more of this beautiful area, I know we’ll be back to explore more.
